At only age 27, Gil is regarded as the leader in fusing mainstream rock music
and tap. He is the creator/choreographer of the hit show “Break The Floor”. The
New York Times called “Break The Floor…An explosion of energy!” and The New
York Post has labeled it “A rock ‘n’ roll tap-dance spectacle!” In 1999 Gil
formed Break The Floor Productions which produces “Jump – The Alternative
Convention,” as well as many other music and dance events worldwide. Gil is
also the creator of the tap dance “band,” NRS (Newly Releases Sound). With NRS,
Gil has performed for the “NBA Playoffs Halftime Show” at Madison Square Garden
in NYC. Gil has also choreographed & performed for the internationally
televised Goodwill Games (TBS), The Marian Anderson Awards (PBS), the
Thanksgiving Day Parade (ABC), The Princess Grace Awards and many performances
for the cable channel Showtime and Hilton Hotels. Before NRS, Gil was in the
original cast of Tap Dogs in NYC, as well as in the U.S. and European tour. He
also toured Europe as a tap soloist with the world-renowned Duke Ellington
Orchestra. Gil has appeared on numerous television programs including “The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Today Show”, “Weekend Today”, “Live with
Regis and Kathie Lee” and “The Ru Paul Show”. He can also be seen in
commercials, industrials, magazine covers and on Chris Rock’s comedy album,
“Bigger and Blacker”. Gil is also the face of Capezio tap shoes, gracing the
cover of Capezio tap shoe boxes worldwide.
